Water Restriction Measures

Water restriction measures can be put in place by EPCOR, Strathcona County or the Highway 14 Regional Water Services Commission due to any situation that prevents the water supply from meeting the current water demand such as prolonged hot weather or a failure in the water treatment or distribution systems.

Demand Measure A (least severe)

Regional reservoirs are forecasted to be below 65% of capacity within the next 5 days.

Conservation Measures

Municipalities: Discontinue hydrant flushing, sewer flushing, park watering, fire-fighting training, and other non-essential use.
Customers: Limit lawn and garden watering, voluntary conservation requested.
Truck Fills: Request voluntary conservation of water.

Demand Measure B

Regional reservoirs are forecasted to be below 50% of capacity within the next 5 days

Conservation Measures

Municipalities: Discontinue hydrant flushing, sewer flushing, park watering, fire-fighting training, and other non-essential use.
Customers: Limit lawn and garden watering, voluntary conservation requested.
Truck Fills: Request voluntary conservation of water. Shut filling bays as required.

Demand Measure C (most severe)

Regional reservoirs are forecasted to be below 35% of capacity within the next 5 days.

Conservation Measures

Municipalities: Complete ban on hydrant flushing, sewer flushing, park watering, fire-fighting training, and other non-essential use.
Customers: complete ban on non-essential water use, conservation enforced.
Truck Fills: Complete ban on non-essential water use. Shut off truck fills as required.
